The Shire of Dragons Chase

Welcome to the Shire of Dragons Chase! Located within the Kingdom of Trimaris, the Shire is a local group within the SCA that covers all of Volusia county.

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is dedicated to the study and recreation of pre-17th century arts, sciences, and combat. We don't just study history, we live it! Whether you're interested in period dance, archery, weaving, combat, brewing, pottery, or historical research we have people who share those passions and would love to help get you started on your journey!

Come out to our weekly and monthly meetings to learn new skills, practice your swordsmanship, and make new friends. These are laid- back events, and we dress in mundane (modern) clothing. 

Throughout the year there are various other events such as the Coronation of our King and Queen, Trimaris Royal University, Gathering of the Clans, Martinmass Moot, etc. These are grand affairs offering classes, tournaments, feast, and comradery. This is where you get to showcase the new skills you've been learning. Show off that new garb, grace us with a song, or test your fighter skills by entering the Crown Lyst and fight to be our next Queen or King! It's also a chance to immerse yourself in ancient cultures and really experience life from another time.
